Yale, Merwin parks to close for upgrades

Merwin Park and Yale Park boat ramp will be closed from Monday until January.

PacifiCorp. will be stabilizing the shoreline at Merwin Park on Merwin Reservoir and extending the boat ramp at Yale Park on Yale Reservoir.

Additional docks also will be installed at Yale Park and the parking area reconfigured to include a route for the disabled in the day-use area.

All the projects are part of PacfiCorp’s federal license requirement to operate the three dams on the North Fork of the Lewis River.

The work originally was planned for earlier this year, but water conditions made it more efficient to move the work to late fall.

Speelyai Bay Park on Merwin Reservoir will remain open during the winter.
