The Columbian
Published: October 29, 2010, 12:00am

When, where: 7 p.m. Friday at Columbia River HS

Records: Mountain View (6-2, 4-1); Columbia River (5-3, 3-2); 3A GSHL league game

Game notes: Mountain View clinches a playoff berth with a win … Mountain View could share in the league title with a win and a Kelso win over Camas. … Mountain View will claim the No. 2 seed to the state preliminary round with a win and a Camas win over Kelso. … The No. 2 team from the GSHL will play at Timberline of Lacey in the state preliminary round. … Columbia River could force a three-way tie for second with a win and a Kelso loss to Camas, forcing an on-field tiebreaker. … River would claim the No. 3 seed with a win and a Kelso win over Camas. … The No. 3 team from the GSHL will play on the road against the winner of the Seattle Prep-Rainier Beach game. … River RB Remick Kawawaki has five consecutive 100-yard games … Mountain View RB P.J. Jones has rushed for 847 yards after missing a game three weeks ago to injury. But the Thunder have many rushing threats, including Sterling Reynolds, who rushed for four TDs last week against Hudson’s Bay, and Jeff Carmody.

The Columbian’s take: Mountain View’s rushing attack has given opponents fits this season. And the Thunder’s defense has flown under the radar, giving up only 17 points in the past four games. River has struggled against good defenses. PICK: Mountain View
