Fleming’s 3 TDs lead Sacramento State to 40-10 win

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) — Jeff Fleming threw three touchdowns and Sacramento State scored 34 unanswered points in the first half Saturday en route to a 40-10 victory over Northern Arizona.

Fleming completed 20 of 24 passes for 247 yards in the first half with TD passes of 10, 39 and 12 yards for the Hornets (4-4, 3-3 Big Sky). The latter two scores went to Morris Norrise, who had eight receptions for 97 yards in the game. Fleming finished 23 of 32 for 333 yards passing.

Bryan Hilliard added two 1-yard rushing touchdowns for Sacramento State. He had only 12 carries in the game for 35 yards, the first time this season he has been held under 100 yards rushing. Northern Arizona entered the game ranked third in the nation in rushing defense among FCS schools, and fourth in total defense.

The Lumberjacks (4-4, 2-3) lost three fumbles in the first half, leading to 21 points by Sacramento State.
