Empower Up, a nonprofit computer education and reuse organization at 5000 E. Fourth Plain Blvd., Suite F, is expanding its hours to meet growing demand for low-cost reused electronics.

The organization, formerly known as CREAM — Computer Reuse, Education And Marketing — will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday beginning today.

“We’re always turning folks away at 5 p.m.,” said Oso Martin, the organization’s executive director.

Empower Up provides free computer classes and each month hosts clinics that offer free help for computer problems. It also provides free public Internet access terminals from 1 to 5 p.m. Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
