Thursday, September 2, 2010
A fund has been established to assist the 28-year-old Vancouver woman who had acid thrown in her face Monday night.
Donations can be made to the "Bethany Joy Storro" account at any Riverview Community Bank branch. Riverview has locations in Camas, Hazel Dell, Orchards, Salmon Creek, east Vancouver, downtown Vancouver and Washougal.
The account was established by Safeway Inc. Storro works at the Safeway grocery store in Washougal.
The incident happened at about 7:15 p.m. Monday as Storro stood outside the passenger side of her car, planning to get some coffee at the Starbucks across the street from Esther Short Park. A woman she didn’t know approached her, uttered a question, and tossed a cup of acid into her face.
Storro suffered second-degree burns in the attack and is recovering at the Oregon Burn Center at Legacy Emanuel Medical Center.
