Drivers cautioned to watch for school buses
Thursday, September 2, 2010
With classes underway at a handful of area schools and more to follow next week, the Washington State Patrol warns drivers to carefully navigate around buses picking up and dropping off children.
The state patrol posted a video on YouTube focused on safety and making clear when drivers must stop, and when they can proceed.
A $394 ticket for failure to stop for a school bus cannot be reduced, suspended or waived.
“We cannot stress enough how important it is to practice safe driving, especially when children are present,” the state patrol said in the release.
