ABERDEEN, Wash. (AP) — Officials say the death of an inmate found hanging in his cell at the Stafford Creek Corrections Center near Aberdeen apparently was a suicide.

The prison says he was unconscious and not breathing when he was found about 3 a.m. Friday. Attempts to revive him failed, and he was declared dead at Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen.

KXRO reports the prison and sheriff’s office are investigating the death, but no crime is suspected.
