Sacred Heart edges Marist 28-25

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. (AP) — Marcel Archer rushed for 104 yards and two touchdowns, while Greg Ibe had 97 yards and two scores in Sacred Heart’s 28-25 victory at Marist on Friday night.

Ibe scored on runs of 2 and 8 yards, while Archer got in from the 6 and the 1 for the Pioneers of the Northeast Conference. Dale Fink threw for 229 yards, missing on only six of his 28 passes as Sacred Heart built a 28-7 lead in the season opener.

The Red Foxes of the Pioneeer League came back with 18 points in the second half, including a 72-yard TD pass from Tommy Reilly to Michael Rios, who had four receptions for 105 yards. They also got a 10-yard TD pass from Chuckie Looney to Kevin Fitzpatrick with 37 seconds left.
