A woman returning home early Saturday morning interrupted a burglar, leading to the arrest of a 38-year-old man, according to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

A news release from the sheriff’s office said the woman was returning to her home on the 6000 block of Northeast 105th Avenue at about 12:40 a.m. Saturday when she saw a man in her kitchen.

Remaining outside the house, the woman called 911. She continued to provide information about what the man was doing as sheriff’s deputies, Washington State Patrol troopers and Vancouver police officers responded to the call of a residential burglary in progress

Dep. Eric Dunham arrested a man several blocks from the house. He had several items that belonged to the burglary victim, according to the news release.

Jaycen C. Ness, whose last known address was 11500 N.E. 76th St., was booked into the Clark County Jail on suspicion of residential burglary and second-degree theft, as well as on a District Court warrant.
