The swimming pool at Stevenson High School will get major renovations and upgrades, thanks to energy grants disbursed by state officials.

Stevenson-Carson School District was among 27 districts awarded $27.8 million in a second, competitive round of school construction funds announced Thursday in Olympia.

The district won $205,000 to help install a new boiler and heat exchanger and more energy-efficient toilets and sinks at the indoor facility, said Superintendent Bill Hundley.

Work is likely to begin this winter, he said.

The new round of grants will trigger more than $73 million of new construction across Washington said Randy Dorn, state school superintendent.
