JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — The Jacksonville Jaguars have placed receiver Jarett Dillard on injured reserve and promoted receiver John Matthews from the practice squad.

Dillard, a fifth-round draft pick in 2009, opened training camp on the physically unable to perform list because of a stress fracture in his left foot. He reinjured it this week and missed practice Thursday and Friday.

Matthews spent training camp with the Jaguars before he was waived during final cuts. He finished the preseason with eight receptions for 83 yards and two touchdowns.

Matthews signed with Indianapolis as a rookie free agent in 2009 and spent the majority of last season on the practice squad. The Jaguars claimed him off waivers in late July.
