TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) — Top-ranked Alabama is still stingy even after most of the stars left.
The Crimson Tide has allowed just a pair of field goals in its first two games despite putting nine new starters on the field, not including defensive end Marcell Dareus, who was suspended by the NCAA.
Alabama leads the nation in points allowed, and gets Dareus, the MVP of the BCS title game, back Saturday night at Duke.
The Tide has weathered his absence and the loss of players such as Rolando McClain and Terrence Cody well against Penn State and San Jose State.
