IOC awards TV rights in Latin America

LAUSANNE, Switzerland (AP) — Grupo Albavision has been granted the broadcast rights to the 2012 London Olympics in 10 Latin American countries in a deal worth $2.25 million.

The International Olympic Committee awarded the free-to-air rights in Bolivia, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Paraguay and Uruguay.

Grupo Albavision provided coverage in those territories of the inaugural Youth Olympics last month in Singapore.
