PARIS (AP) — French cyclist Mickael Larpe has been suspended for two years by the French federation after testing positive for the blood-booster EPO.

Larpe, from the second-tier French Roubaix-Lille-Metropole team, was provisionally suspended by the International Cycling Union in May after failing a doping test during a French professional league race in March.

The French federation says the rider will appeal the ban at the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Switzerland.

Larpe also has reportedly been issued the preliminary charges for allegedly writing fake medical prescriptions and using and selling banned substances.
