SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) — San Francisco offensive coordinator Jimmy Raye is taking responsibility for the problems the 49ers had getting plays in on time in their lopsided season-opening loss at Seattle. He insists things can be fixed before a Monday night game against the Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints.

Quarterback Alex Smith now has a wristband and that is one thing being considered to help alleviate the issues, which led to three burned timeouts and Smith being forced to improvise at last second.

Also, coach Mike Singletary, Raye and Smith shot down a Yahoo! report from this week claiming there is tension between the players and coaches and that some players approached Singletary this offseason to complain about Raye.
