ARLINGTON, Wash. (AP) — The Snohomish County sheriff’s office says a 7-year-old boy has been killed in a rollover crash near Arlington.
The Herald of Everett reports that the boy was riding with two younger siblings in a pickup truck driven by a their mother Saturday afternoon. The truck hit a utility pole and then a rock and a light pole; the boy was partially ejected and then crushed when the truck rolled onto its side.
The sheriff’s office says the driver had to be forcibly restrained on a gurney after fighting with paramedics and deputies. She and the surviving children were taken to a hospital with what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators say the woman may have been impaired. No identities have been released.
