Vancouver-based iStores Inc. announced Friday that it has acquired PrankPlace.com, a group of online retail businesses, from Hartford, Conn.-based Outrageous Ventures Inc.

IStores expects to add about 10 employees to its staff of 28 people, said Adam Stites, iStore’s owner. The company purchased PrankPlace.com for more than $1.2 million. The acquisition includes several online retailers that offer novelty and gag gifts.

To make room for the new inventory, iStores Inc. has closed its indoor paint ball facility at its headquarters at 1212 W. Fourth Plain Blvd. The company owns several online niche retail businesses, including Xtremez, an online seller of paint ball and sports equipment.
