EVERETT, Wash. (AP) — A woman may have had hot sauce thrown in her face before she was strangled in her apartment in Monroe.

Snohomish County prosecutors say investigators found hot sauce on the face and hair of Angela Pettifer. A broken glass of hot sauce was found in her bedroom.

The Daily Herald reports the 36-year-old was killed Aug. 14 after returning from a night out. She was last seen with Michael Benjamin who also stayed in the building.

Benjamin was arrested Friday and was ordered held in jail Monday for investigation of murder.
