LONGVIEW, Wash. (AP) — The Longview City Council told the city attorney to start drafting an ordinance to ban transients from camping in the city.
The council took the action Thursday after hearing from business owners who complained transients put off customers and leave behind trash and human waste.
The Daily News of Longview reports social service professionals told the council the ban would not address the underlying causes of homelessness.
