SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) — The Stanley Cup paid a visit to Notre Dame Stadium.

Chicago Blackhawks general manager Stan Bowman, a Notre Dame graduate, brought the cup with him to Saturday’s game against No. 16 Stanford, where he was to be honored at halftime. The Blackhawks beat the Philadelphia Flyers in June to win their first NHL title since 1961.

Bowman, who also met with members of the Notre Dame hockey team, and the Stanley Cup were on the sidelines before the game. The cup even made a brief appearance on the field, but was moved back to the safety of the sidelines before Notre Dame’s band came out.
