INDEPENDENCE, Ohio (AP) — Having lost LeBron James, the Cavaliers are now learning to live without him.

For the first time in eight seasons, James will not be at media day Monday as the Cavs embark on a new era without the superstar, who decided to leave as a free agent and join Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh in Miami to take a run at his first NBA title.

It was a turbulent “Summer of LeBron” for the Cavs. Coach Mike Brown was fired, general manager Danny Ferry left, Byron Scott was hired as coach and then James bolted, leaving a team and a city in the lurch with Cleveland owner Dan Gilbert accusing him of quitting in the playoffs.

James’ departure prompted guard Mo Williams to say he considered retiring. Williams, who injure his groin last week in workouts, is expected to address his status.
