BELLINGHAM, Wash. (AP) — The Whatcom County sheriff’s office says the search continues Monday for a climber who fell more than 300 feet off a cliff near Mount Larrabee in the Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest.

KIRO-TV reports 71-year-old Dallas Kloke of Anacortes fell Saturday afternoon while climbing with four others near the summit of the Pleiades Peaks.

Climbers found some piece of his equipment about 300 feet below. A helicopter from Whidbey Island Naval Air Station and volunteers from Bellingham and Skagit County Mountain Rescue were unable to find the climber over the weekend.

Kloke’s family says he has been climbing in the North Cascades for more than 50 years.
