GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Florida’s Jeff Demps is wearing a protective boot on his injured left foot, but coach Urban Meyer says the speedy running back could play at top-ranked Alabama.

Demps injured his foot Sept. 18 at Tennessee and re-injured it during Saturday’s 48-14 win against Kentucky. Meyer says X-rays showed no damage and that Demps has a bone bruise.

Demps leads the seventh-ranked Gators with 367 yards rushing. He has scored two touchdowns. He also has 11 receptions for 61 yards.

Meyer says, “I think we are going to have Demps.”

But if Demps doesn’t play, backups Emmanuel Moody and Mike Gillislee would take on bigger roles.
