BANKS, Ore. (AP) — The Washington County district attorney has filed six charges against a 15-year-old boy accused of bringing a gun and ammunition to school.

The North Plains boy was arrested last Thursday at Banks High School after a 14-year-old girl told a counselor the boy had threatened to shoot her and another 15-year-old boy.

The Oregonian says school officials called police, who found an unloaded semiautomatic handgun and ammunition in the boy’s backpack. The district attorney has filed charges that include unlawful possession of a firearm, unauthorized use of a weapon and menacing.

The boy is expected to remain in a Portland juvenile detention facility until a hearing set for Oct. 13.
