MONTEVIDEO, Uruguay (AP) — World Cup star Diego Forlan of Uruguay is making a pitch for tourists to visit his country.
Forlan was voted the best player at the World Cup and says in a commercial that such an honor is “incredible … but also tiring.”
Luckily, he says in the ad, Uruguay is the perfect place “for taking a break” and that this summer he “got to know the best of Uruguay.”
The blond-haired striker plays for Spanish club Atletico Madrid. He will be the face of the campaign to boost tourism, an industry worth more than a billion dollars a year to Uruguay.
