CLEVELAND (AP) — The game between the Detroit Tigers and Cleveland Indians was postponed by rain Tuesday night.

A steady drizzle kept the field covered and forced the teams into a doubleheader on Wednesday, scheduled to start at 4:05 p.m. It will be the Indians’ final home games of the season.

A year ago, the Indians concluded their home season with a makeup doubleheader. Cleveland split two games with the Chicago White Sox to end their 2009 home season.

The rainout cost Johnny Damon a chance to join an exclusive group. Damon is one game shy of becoming the fifth player to play in 140 or more games for 15 straight seasons. The others are Hank Aaron, Brooks Robinson and Pete Rose at 16 apiece and Willie Mays, who did it 15 times.
