SEATTLE (AP) — A baby’s drug overdose death occurred at Children’s Hospital in Seattle even though the hospital promised sweeping changes and safeguards last year after another drug mistake killed a 15-year-old boy.
A lawyer representing the teen’s family in a malpractice case, Chris Davis, told KIRO-TV he was shocked by the death Sept. 19 of an 8-month-old Puyallup girl with a heart problem. She was given 10 times the intended dosage of a medication.
In March of 2009 the Kent teen died of a narcotic overdose after a dental procedure.
And, in 2003 a 12-year-old boy died after surgery from an overdose of codeine.
