Gifts for Our Community, a charitable grass-roots organization that operates the Divine Consign furniture store in downtown Vancouver, is taking applications for grants that will benefit at-risk youth.

Six grants of $2,500 each are available. Applications should demonstrate how the grant will serve at-risk youth in the arts, education or human services. The grants are funded from the proceeds of the Divine Friends Home Tour, and the income of the Divine Consign store.

Applications are available now at www.giftsforourcommunity.org or at Divine Consign, 904 Main Street. The deadline is 5 p.m. Oct. 29. Grant recipients will be announced Nov. 8.

The grants won’t fund organizations that promote a particular religious or political ideology; dinner galas, advertising and other fundraising; and intermediary funding agencies.
