SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — The U.S. Senate has confirmed Spokane attorney Mike Ormsby to become U.S. attorney for Eastern Washington.
Ormsby will replace James McDevitt, who was appointed by former President George W. Bush. McDevitt said he has no particular plans for the future.
Ormsby said he was never called to a hearing before the U.S. Senate’s Judiciary Committee. The Obama appointee said he received an e-mail Thursday morning saying the year-long confirmation process was over.
