WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) — Purdue junior quarterback Robert Marve will miss the rest of the season after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.

Purdue made the announcement Thursday.

Marve hurt the knee in the first quarter of Purdue’s 31-20 loss to Toledo last week. He tore the ACL in the same knee last year, then bruised it this season, on Sept. 18 against Ball State. It was his first season with the Boilermakers after transferring in from Miami.

The school says Marve will not be available for comment.

Rob Henry has stepped in the past two weeks after Marve has gone down with injuries. The Boilermakers have a bye on Saturday before opening Big Ten play at Northwestern on Oct. 9.
