NEW YORK (AP) — More than three decades have passed since Bob Dylan brought the plight of boxer Rubin “Hurricane” Carter into the public consciousness.
Carter was freed after 19 years in prison when a federal judge found he was wrongfully convicted.
Now, academics from around the U.S. will examine “Hurricane” and similar songs during a Manhattan conference called “Bob Dylan and the Law.”
There’ll be a public session on Monday night, followed by an academic session on Tuesday.
