SALEM, Ore. (AP) — The Marion County District Attorney’s office says it is filing misconduct charges against a Marion County sheriff’s deputy.
An office spokesman says Robert D. Arnsmeier faces charges of theft and official misconduct.
The sheriff’s office became aware in December of allegations leading to the charge and asked the Oregon State Police to investigate. Arnsmeier was placed on administrative leave in late December, pending the investigation.
Arnsmeier has worked in the sheriff’s office since 2001. He began as a reserve deputy and became a full-time deputy in 2004.
He is scheduled to appear in court Thursday. His attorney Kevin Swanson could not immediately be reached when contacted Saturday.
