TUMWATER, Wash. (AP) — Police in Washington are looking for a 10-year-old girl after her father apparently shot a woman believed to be his wife and then turned the gun on himself on a highway. Authorities later found the body of the couple’s 6-year-old son at their home.

Washington State Patrol troopers say the man was fleeing from a trooper Tuesday morning when he shot himself in the head after his car spun out on Interstate 5 at Tumwater.

Troopers found the body of a woman passenger in the car. The Thurston County coroner says she had been shot in the head. He says the couple are believed to be married.

Authorities went to their home in Spanaway to check on their children and discovered the boy’s body.
