SNOQUALMIE PASS, Wash. (AP) — Authorities say two separate snowslides near Snoqualmie Pass have injured six people.

None of the injuries was considered life-threatening.

Washington State Patrol spokesman Scott Martin says a vehicle carrying two adults and two children was caught in a snowslide early Wednesday afternoon on Interstate 90 about five miles east of the Snoqualmie Pass summit. He says the four were taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.

State Transportation Department crews did avalanche control work on the pass later in the day.

King County sheriff’s Sgt. John Urquhart tells The Seattle Times that five outdoor recreationists called for help after two of them were injured in an avalanche Wednesday morning. He says the group was about 500 feet below the Snoqualmie Pass summit, near Snoqualmie Mountain. Urquhart says a search-and-rescue crew was dispatched.
