Letter: Bus drivers deserve recognition

Last year I applied for a substitute school bus driving job in Washougal. The training and requirements to drive a school bus were challenging. After one year on the job I have been in awe of the dedication, skill, and commitment of my fellow drivers. Daily they fulfill a vital role in our education system when they safely transport our children and grandchildren to and from school. It is not just a job for them; it is a responsibility they take pride in and perform at an A+ level.

I took school bus drivers for granted all the years my kids were growing up. Now I say a belated and well-deserved thank you. Will you join me in a “Thank a school bus driver campaign”? Let’s recognize their service to our communities all across Clark County.
