Ore. man gets 17.5 years for death of infant son

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — A Eugene man has been sentenced 1712 years in prison after pleading guilty to manslaughter in the death of his infant son.

KEZI-TV reports that 22-year-old Derek Jackson had previously pleaded not guilty to murder and assault charges in the death last June of Ryder Jackson.

The baby boy died from a traumatic brain injury.
