ARCADIA, Calif. (AP) — Jaycito is staying home to prep for the Kentucky Derby.

The runner-up in the San Felipe will run in Saturday’s $1 million Santa Anita Derby instead of going to New York for the $1 million Wood Memorial the same day.

That gives Jaycito another shot at Premier Pegasus, who beat him by 734 lengths in the San Felipe.

Premier Pegasus, a son of 2000 Kentucky Derby winner Fusaichi Pegasus, was made the solid 8-5 favorite on the morning line for the 1 1-8-mile Santa Anita Derby.

Jaycito is the 4-1 second choice, while Silver Medallion is third at 9-2.

They’ll be taking on eight rivals, including Robert Lewis winner Anthony’s Cross, in the West’s biggest prep for the Kentucky Derby.
