KELSO, Wash. (AP) — A Cowlitz County, Wash., animal control officer says a Kelso woman was frantic after she opened up her garage and found a 2- to 3-foot-long alligator.
Apparently a friend who was renting an apartment from her put the gator in the garage.
Animal Control’s Mike Nicholson tells KGW-TV of Portland the alligator let out a hiss when Nicholson arrived but he managed to calm and remove the 8-week-old reptile he’s calling Charlie.
Authorities determined Charlie hadn’t eaten for two weeks so they provided him with a mood-brightener on Wednesday — a raw chicken.
Nicholson calls Charlie “a cool character” and says he hopes he can have a good life in a wildlife sanctuary.
