A Vancouver resident, two Oregon residents and one person from Indiana have been ordered to appear in courts to answer charges that they violated several Oregon wildlife laws in the killing of several deer, cow elk, a spike bull elk, an antelope, a hawk, bear, raccoon and beaver.
Loren Keller, 28, of Vancouver is charged with making a fraudulent application for an Oregon 2011 Resident Sport Pac combination license by claiming to be an Oregon resident, saving himself more than $1,300; and for shooting killing a cow elk in January, using a rifle that’s been seized because he is a convicted felon, according to a bulletin from the Oregon State Police and Senior Trooper Adam Turnbo.
Also charged:
o Brian Miller, 27, of Lake Oswego, Ore., the owner of Northwest Hunting Adventures, which was tied to the violations.
o Nathan Hostetter, 37, of Lebanon, Ore., a guide for the company.
o Casey Jones, 31, a resident of Bargersville, Ind.
Oregon troopers with the Fish & Wildlife Division spent five months on the investigation of hunting and guiding violations over two years, in eight counties: Clatsop, Tillamook, Washington, Multnomah, Linn, Gilliam, Douglas and Harney, the bulletin said.
