GRESHAM, Ore. (AP) — A U.S. Marshal’s spokesman says a man sought in the videotaped torture and subsequent death of a man in Pierce County, Wash., has been arrested in the Portland suburb of Gresham.

Supervisory Deputy U.S. Marshal Eric Wahlstrom tells The Oregonian that Maalo Samaota was located at a relative’s house Friday.

Samaota and Michael Crosman have been charged with aggravated first-degree murder. Crosman was arrested March 30 in Washington. He has pleaded not guilty.

The News Tribune of Tacoma says a third person, 30-year-old Aleeya Dawn Freeman, pleaded not guilty Thursday to first-degree murder. Pierce County prosecutors allege she lured the victim to the Lakewood, Wash., apartment where he was bound, gagged and tortured with a knife last year.

Detectives believe human remains found March 10 near Harts Lake in Pierce County are those of the still-unidentified victim.

A video showing the attack was dropped off in February at the Spokane Police Department.
