In a scrum for Clark County high school rugby bragging rights, the Prairie Wolf Pack outscored the Vancouver under-19 Sharks 32-16 on Saturday at Laurin Middle School.

Jode De Klerk led the way, scoring four tries to account for 20 of the Prairie points. A rugby try is similar to a touchdown in football. Cameron Triboulet also scored a Prairie try, and Jack Fletcher kicked two penaltiues and one conversion for eight Prairie points.

High school rugby has been played in Clark County since the Sharks were formed in the spring of 2000. This season, four Clark County boys teams and one girls team are part of Oregon Youth Rugby. Battle Ground and Camas have boys teams, and Battle Ground also has a team in second division of the girls league.

The season continues through the end of April, with most teams playing Saturday matches. State playoffs take place in May.
