SPANAWAY, Wash. (AP) — Investigators are looking into whether fires at two Spanaway stores at about the same time Wednesday night are arsons.
A two-alarm fire at Kmart store apparently started in the garden center. KING reports the fire apparently caused aerosol cans to explode. Sprinklers activated. Damage appears to be extensive.
Minutes later a fire broke out at a nearby Dollar Tree variety store. KIRO reports it started in a display of coloring books.
Central Pierce Fire and Rescue Assistant Chief Randy Stevens says investigators are looking at store surveillance cameras to verify witness reports.
