SEATTLE (AP) — A Tacoma man accused of abducting and raping an 8-year-old Federal Way girl is jailed in Seattle.
The 28-year-old, Benjamin Trinh, appeared in King County Superior Court on Wednesday and was ordered held with bail set at $1 million.
Police say he took the girl Monday night from a playground near Olympic View Elementary School in Federal Way. Investigators say he took her to a store where he was recognized by an employee aware of an Amber alert. A credit card transaction led investigators to Trinh’s home. He was arrested Tuesday. Probable cause documents say he made the girl watch a pornographic movie and engage in sexual acts.
The girl’s mother had reported her missing about 7 p.m. Monday. She returned home about 10:30 p.m.
