MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Negotiators for the NFL and its locked-out players have wrapped up two days of court-ordered talks, with plans to sit down again next week but no sign of significant progress.
U.S. Magistrate Judge Arthur Boylan is overseeing the mediation at the federal courthouse in Minneapolis. The two sides left after meeting for about four hours on Friday, following a session that lasted longer than nine hours on Thursday.
An attorney for the players says they have “a lot of work” to do over the weekend before the next session.
Hall of Famer Carl Eller, who is representing retired players in the antitrust lawsuit against the league, says he thinks the sides are “moving forward” but have “slowed a little bit” in their progress.
