NEW YORK (AP) — Seattle Sounders midfielder Servando Carrasco has been suspended for one game and fined $500 for a reckless challenge on Chicago Fire forward Patrick Nyarko in a game last Saturday.

Carrasco received a yellow card for the foul, but the MLS disciplinary committee ruled the play endangered Nyarko’s safety. Carrasco will miss this Saturday’s game against Philadelphia.

Galaxy midfielder Jovan Kirovski has been given a one-game suspension in addition to the automatic one-game ban for drawing a red card last Saturday against D.C. United. The MLS committee fined him an additional $750 after the automatic $250 fine for the red card Kirovski received for verbal abuse of an official.

Kirovski missed Wednesday’s game at Toronto and will be out Sunday against Chicago.
