ELLENSBURG, Wash. (AP) — Ellensburg firefighters say a 31-year-old woman and two children died in a Ellensburg duplex fire early Saturday.

Fire officials told the Yakima Herald the duplex was already engulfed in flames when the first crews arrived at 12:45 a.m.

Firefighters were able to pull out the woman and a 6-year-old boy less than 15 minutes after arriving. After trying to revive them, they were declared dead at Kittitas Valley Community Hospital in Ellensburg.

The third victim, a 4-year-old boy, was discovered during another search of the home shortly after 1 a.m. He was declared dead at the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. Names of the victims have not been released.

One firefighter was wounded by glass while lifting one of the victims through a window. He was able to remain on duty.
