SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) — Defenseman Justin Braun was in the lineup in place of the injured Ian White for the San Jose Sharks in Game 2 of their first-round series against the Los Angeles Kings.

The appearance Saturday night is Braun’s first ever in the playoffs. He had two goals and nine assists in 28 games this season.

White is sidelined by a head injury sustained when he was hit from behind in the first period of Game 1 by Los Angeles’ Jarret Stoll.

Stoll is suspended for Game 2. The Kings originally planned to bring John Zeiler up from the minors to replace Stoll, but changed plans because there was not time for Zeiler to clear re-entry waivers.

Oscar Moller played instead after being a healthy scratch for the first game.
