Letter: Veteran’s helping hand warms heart

Sometimes our vets don’t get enough good praise. My grandson T.J. got onto a C-Tran bus in Vancouver to go to school. He did not have money for the fare because he had forgotten the check his parents had written for his bus pass. Someone behind him heard him say this and said, “I will pay for it.” This person was a Vietnam vet and paralyzed from the waist down. He told T.J. that “We’re supposed to help each other out.”

What a wonderful thing to do for my grandson. My thanks to that Vietnam vet for doing the good deed and the impression he left on my grandson with all that is going on in this world. This just warmed my heart.
