SEATTLE (AP) — A 1-acre park in Seattle’s Queen Anne neighborhood is being dedicated Saturday as Thomas C. Wales Park in memory of the assistant U.S. attorney who was gunned down in his home.

The park was funded by Seattle’s Pro Parks Levy and named after Wales at the request of the Queen Anne Community Council.

Wales was shot through a window in October 2001 as he was sitting at the computer in his Queen Anne home. The shooter has never been found. The Justice Department is offering a $1 million reward for information that leads to a conviction.
