Vancouver will host the tall ships Lady Washington and Hawaiian Chieftain next week as part of their annual visit to lower Columbia River ports.

The ships are scheduled to tie up Monday at 100 Columbia St. after firing a cannon salute to the city.

The vessels will open from 4 to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday for self-guided walk-on tours. Crew dressed in 18th-century costumes will greet visitors. Tickets are not required for the tours, but a $3 donation per person is welcomed.

The ships will also offer two-hour evening sails, starting at 6 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday, featuring demonstrations of the ship’s handling, a sea shanty sing-along and opportunities for guests to sail the ship. Tickets are $25 at http://www.historicalseaport.org.
